CIPS Philosophy
Our Philosophy
At CIPS we use a child-centered versus teacher-directed approach to allow our preschoolers to learn about the natural world in an atmosphere that allows freedom of choice and movement, early investigations, informal conversations and spontaneous initiation of activities. At CIPS we recognize and support each child’s prior knowledge, skills, attitudes, learning pace, personal traits, interests and goals, and preferred learning styles.
We know the first six years of a child’s life are extremely important to their development. Studies indicate that children who are nurtured and given positive attention during the early years are less likely to develop learning, behavioral, emotional, and health problems. Therefore, we are committed to provide our children with an environment that promotes behavioral, emotional, and educational health by encouraging nurturance and positive attention.
How we ensure that all children at CIPS are “respected and valued”
-
By providing a home away from home.
-
By encouraging children to be the best that they can be.
-
By showing and teaching respect.
-
By believing children learn though positive interactions with peers and adults.
-
By believing learning by doing offers a concrete experience for a child.
-
By creating a fun, loving, safe and supportive place both for parents’ peace of mind and your child’s wellbeing.
-
By encouraging children to learn at their own pace and constantly aiming to meet each child’s needs.
